Meet My Favorite PBA Pros

There are several professional bowlers that I am a fan of, and some I even look to to help improve my own game. This blog will be dedicated to the two in the PBA that I find myself pulling for no matter who they are bowling against: Brad Miller and Kyle Sherman.

Brad and Kyle run a YouTube Channel where they create vlogs that show their journey in all the PBA tournaments, instructional videos, and bowling ball reviews. I mentioned in my last blog that Packy Hanrahan has a YouTube channel that is similar called The House Bowling. This was actually originally Brad and Kyle's second channel, but for an unknown reason, "The House" or the group of guys that used to stay together during the tour season while they were travelling from tournament to tournament, sort of dispersed and Packy took the channel over. Since Brad and Kyle started their channel in 2017, they have created almost 600 videos that have helped them generate over 150,000 subscribers and over 39,000,000 views on YouTube. As they say in many of their videos, they created the channel to try and help bowling grow and get the same recognition as other sports. As their channel has grown, Brad and Kyle have started selling merchandise such as hoodies and t-shirts and even started a yearly membership where you pay to be part of a Facebook group where you can get tips on your bowling from Brad and Kyle themselves along with Daniel Puerto, a USBC (United States Bowling Congress) coach who has coached several professional bowlers in the past. Many other bowlers have taken Brad and Kyle's lead and started their own vlogs to showcase bowling and what their journey in the sport looks like, but Brad and Kyle will always be the OGs (and in my opinion the best).

Now that I have talked a bit about who Brad and Kyle are as a YouTube channel duo, I want to let you know a little about them and their bowling successes individually.

Let's start with Brad.
Brad Miller is from Lees Summit, Missouri, and he has been bowling on the PBA tour since 2012 when he was 21 years old. Brad bowled in college for Lindenwood University, and was named First Team All-American in his Senior year there. While he has not yet won a national or major tour title, he has won 3 regional titles, and he finished second in the 2020 PBA Chameleon Championships. As of 2020, he had cashed in 47 PBA tournament and had won over $115,000. Brad also won the Steve Nagy Sportsmanship Award in 2020, which is an award that is given out each year to the PBA Tour bowler who has shown the best sportsmanship throughout the tour season. I was able to meet Brad in 2019 when the US Open came to Mooresville, NC, and my parents bought tickets where we would be able to go watch. He was super nice and took the time to talk to me about my own experiences bowling even though he was in a hurry to get to a video shoot thing that all the pros had to do for TV that day.

Now on to Kyle.
Kyle Sherman is from O'Fallon, Missouri, and has been bowling on the PBA tour since 2017 when he was 23.  Kyle has had a lot of success on the lanes ever since he was a youth bowler. He bowled his first ever 300 game when he was only 11 years old, and won several tournaments throughout his journey as a youth bowler including the Junior World Team Challenge and the Youth Open Championships team event. Like Brad, he also bowled for Lindenwood University where he was a three-time collegiate All-American and four-time academic All-American. He was part of Junior Team USA in 2015, and has been on Team USA in 2020 and 2021. During his time on Team USA, he won two gold medals (one in doubles and one in team) and one silver medal (in a trios event). Since he started bowling on the professional tour, he has won two national tour titles. The first of these came in 2019 when he bowled the PBA/PWBA Striking Against Cancer Mixed Doubles Tournament with his doubles partner and girlfriend Amanda Greene. His first singles title came last year during the 2022 PBA Cheetah Championships. He bowled on TV today for his first Major title, but, sadly, only made it to third. This is, however, still his best finish in a major event and the best finish he has had in any professional event so far this season.  As of 2020, Kyle had cashed in 64 events for a total career earnings of over $162,000, I was also able to meet Kyle at the PBA Wilmington Open held in Wilmington, NC, in 2019, and I got to take a picture with him which I will post below. Even though its not the best picture I have ever taken, it is still cool to have.
